Saint Paul’s normally worships every Sunday at 9a.m. Occasionally we have joint outdoor worship with our neighbor churches at 10:30 instead. We celebrate Holy Communion twice each month. This service consists of bible readings, a short sermon, sometimes a children’s moment, and a Communion prayer that recounts the Last Supper of our Lord. Then we receive Communion at either the Communion rail (kneeling if so desired) or the center aisle (standing). Communion is then brought to persons who for reasons of disability are not able to approach either the rail or the aisle. The service takes about an hour. All baptized Christians who seek the real presence of Christ in the meal are welcome to receive Holy Communion.
We celebrate a Service of the Word on other Sundays. This service consists of everything listed above, except Communion. Instead, the minister leads us in a prayer in thanksgiving for the Word of God revealed to us in Creation, the calling of Israel, and in the Word made Flesh in our Savior Jesus Christ. This service also takes about an hour.
Your child is welcome in church! We welcome children of all ages to participate in worship. The best way to ensure children know how to conduct themselves in church is to bring them, so fear not if they squirm or add their own soundtrack.
Q: Do I have to join your church in order to attend services?
A: All people are welcome to attend worship and participate in church activities, whether members or not.
Q: Do I have to get dressed up for church?
A: Some people like to get dressed up. Others come as they are. There is no dress code. All are welcome!
Q: May I take communion at your church?
A: All baptized Christians who believe in Christ's presence at the Eucharist are welcome to the communion table.
Q: How may I arrange for myself or my child to get baptized at your church?
A: Baptisms are arranged with the pastor, who usually plans for several education sessions with the person to be baptized, or in the case of an infant or small child, with the person's parents.
